From traditional rectangles,
and geometric shapes, to freeform, natural waterscapes, every
pool is a unique expression. Many pools include an underwater
seating bench, usually adjacent to the entry steps. Instead
of a ladder, a “step out” has become the standard
mode of exit in the deep end. Two steps, smaller than the entry
steps, are created as part of the pool shell, in a deep
end corner.
Geologic Rocks can be placed on top of the pool wall in lieu of
a section of coping:
Dive Rocks - very large rocks placed on the pool
wall, at the deepest point
Beam rocks – rocks or stones, different from
coping, placed elsewhere on pool walls
Fountain pipes – extensions of return lines that
direct water returning from the filter up, out of the water, against
the bottom of a beam rock, creating a pleasant background sound
and gentle surface ripples.
Waterfall or stream feature – a branch of return
line feeds water to a rock formation elevated up from the edge
of the pool. The effect can mimic a small brook running tranquilly
into the pool or a more forceful cascade.
